Announcements: Monday, October 12th

 We'rrrreee baaaaccck!!! 

One Call:  There will be a one call going out tomorrow evening to remind parents to get new commitment forms in on Friday if they want to make a change, to try to encourage them to buy yearbooks, and to let virtual parents know that bus drop off of packets is over, and to let them know the changes to lunch pickup.

Observations: You may have noticed your name listed on the living calendar for next Monday under Full Observations.  I would love to try to get full observations in the next two weeks for my summative folks.  These will be pre-planned and you will know when I am coming.  If your name is on there and you have a lesson coming up you would like me to see, then contact me and we will set it up for the day/time you want if it works for my calendar.  If you want to wait until I send out the signup sheet later in the week, that's fine.  It will be a google spreadsheet sign up like I've done in the past.  

Virtual Teachers:  Now that we are back in person there will no longer be bus dropoff of packets for our virtual learners.  Please communicate that to your families.

Packet Organization: We had quite a few people come in today who were supposed to have gotten 4th grade packets, who got 5th-grade packets instead.  I am not sure what happened, but the packets were clearly marked.  We also had several kindergartners who didn't get their packets.  Not sure why...anyway, Carolyn cleaned up and distributed the packets this morning so we can start fresh this week.  

So instead of organizing by address, we should reorganize to make it easy to find each child's packet.  Teachers, mark each packet with each student's name, or organize like the first and second grade teachers with hanging file folders to help keep track of packets.  See the picture below:

If you do it that way, then the person distributing your packets can simply return the crate to you each Friday at the end of the day and you can see who did not pick up their packets.  If a set of parents do not pick up their child's packet, scan the packet and send it to the parent and document it as a parent contact in IC. Make sure you contact the parent and that you hear back.  If this becomes habitual and you have called at least 3 times and it is documented,  then let me know and we will set up a conference.  

Chromebooks:
Lisa has organized and distributed most of the Chromebooks.  We have just 3-4 per grade level, with the most at intermediate.  The district will be getting us more soon, but it will be at least a couple of weeks.  We have 24 on the RTI cart.  I will be scheduling the cart ASAP.
