I never thought I would say this, but we need to look at the foundation of our instructional time this year as virtual. When I think about it that way, it makes me realize the importance of reflecting on what we are doing for and with each child. Please think about the experience each one of your students is getting. Think about it from their perspective and from their parents' perspective. What would each child say? How often do you listen to their thoughts, watch them work, coach them, and provide feedback?
That's what I will be doing over the next couple of weeks as I do walkthroughs and start the evaluation process. In concrete terms here is your todo list:
1. Look at your schedule. Make sure the majority of your time is working with students. If not, change it. Make sure your schedule shows the small groups that come in also.
2. Update the document on the Lesson Plans tab on the Blog found here with your current schedule and weekly with your lesson plans. I am sharing this document with Central office so they know when they can do walkthroughs. They will be checking lesson plans, as well, so be sure they are current.
Items 1 and 2 are due by 8:00 am tomorrow morning.
