Our staff will:
- Use Teamwork
- Have a Growth Mindset – Change is Necessary
- Have a “Whatever it Takes” attitude
- Help All Students feel Loved and Safe
- Support our Community/Family Oriented Culture
Teamwork: Link to Flipgrid
- Differing Definitions of Teamwork--Mine is related to my non-negotiables...I want you to plan together
- Staff - 7 staff said high...Concerns were related to:
- everyone carrying the load--stepping up to help out the school, not just your own classroom (extracurricular work)
- respecting each others' jobs
- special ed student ownership
- some prioritize efficiency and convenience over what's best to studentsPersonal teams rated high (other teams didn't work as well together or that vertical teaming or across school for benefit of school not as high)
Whatever it takes:
7 said they rated our school high. I got the impression that most rated themselves high, but about half felt there were more ways we could collectively grow.
Comments about ways we can grow:
1. "Pressure that there's always something to strive for..."(I feel like that pressure comes from me...I think my enthusiasm gets the better of me at times)
There will always be ways we can get better. Always....but your hard work is recognized, valued, and appreciated. I will never stop pushing us to learn more and grow, but I do not want it to be a negative "pressure" thing. The thing to remember is that your worth comes from who you are as a human being-not from your performance. I really and truly value the effort and the hard work-not the score. Remove the "pressure" from my reassureance now and through your internal dialogue. Rest assured that if the effort is there, I'm good. Measure yourself against the gain...how you have grown in relation to your goals, not against the gap of an arbitray goal. Also, remember not everyone is like you.
2. Some are here to get through the day, we've always done it this way, more praise for teachers, need to be willing to go above and beyond instead of the not my problem attitiude, It's obvious which educators are here for what is best of students, we are not working across grade levels

Insights
Y'all love QQT!
My favorite part of Kagan--related to engagement
Timed-Pair-Share and Rally Robin instead of "talk to your shoulder partner"
for equal participation and individual accountability
Kagan for teaching our children to be good communicators...
Area that was left out was the non-content related communication between the students.
Communication - Greeting students at 7:28

2. Parent requests due by April 20th
3. Team meetings Friday the 27th
Communicate, communicate, communicate: In April, teachers will meet together to develop recommended class lists for the next year using classroom data and observations of current students. Each grouping will include students performing at a variety of levels. Individual students will be placed to help each one make continuous progress. Parent/guardian requests should only be submitted if there are unusual academic, social, or emotional circumstances. In these cases, the request must be in writing and returned to the office no later than April 20th. The requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the principal and counselor, and decisions will be final.
