Materials Pick up and Delivery
By Buses: Don't give parents any information about bus delivery yet. Not sure when this will happen. We have to wait a couple weeks to see how the feeding works out and how/when hotspots are scheduled to be at various locations to find out when we can tap into our drivers for this. I'll find out if it's possible for next Monday. Stay tuned. As soon as I find out I will tell you. Guidance for student material contamination is 24 hours.
Attendance Procedure:
Recording Attendance Step 1:
1. Each morning, get into IC and save your attendance for that day. Just open it and hit save. directly after the morning meeting, put your initials by all students who attended the morning meeting in the AM column on the Attendance and Contacts spreadsheet for that date.
2. Each day when you make a second contact with the student (Remind text, small group, call, email, Google Classroom) Mark your initials in the PM column. Be sure to tell students that were absent from the morning meeting that they will be counted absent if they continue to be absent from morning meeting unless there is a prior arrangement that it is a regular practice to watch later. (Use your professional judgment here.) YOUR PERSONAL DOCUMENTATION IS CRUCIAL IF THIS IS CALLED INTO QUESTION. Use contact log in IC to document attendance conversations.
Recording Attendance Step 2:
Each morning, before the morning meeting, adjust your attendance sheet from the day before:
1. Mark students in the AM column with your initials who watched the morning meeting later.
2. Leave students' space in PM column blank if no one was able to make contact with them after the morning meeting.
Face to Face Contact with Students - We have received guidance from the department of education on how we are allowed to make this happen. (How we can safely bring students in). Here are a couple of rules you should be aware of now.
1. No more than 15% of our population can be here at a time. For us, that is 45 students.
2. No more than 10 students in one room.
The reason why you need to know this now is because as you are creating your schedules you may want to leave space for these opportunities. NO ONE IS REQUIRED TO MEET FACE TO FACE WITH STUDENTS NOW. Another opportunity you may be interested in is meeting with students at a remote location like one of our churches. Let me know through email if you would be interested in doing that.
We will start by bringing in students to do iready testing. After we get that done, we can work on Tier 2 and 3 Interventions. You may also arrange for parents to bring kids in for reading or math groups (Tier 1). We will have a form where we will document as a school "who is coming in when" so we can keep our numbers under 45 and have a log in the event contract tracing is necessary. Please don't plan to have anyone coming in before September 8th.
Google Meet and Morning Meeting Considerations:
If your connection is poor during your morning meeting, have students turn off videos.
