Welcome Back!

Our students come to us from different backgrounds with diverse strengths, histories, and interests.   They all carry with them a different story.  The challenge that continues to face us is to learn their stories and reach them no matter where they are and to inspire each one to meet his or her maximum potential.  I know that this challenge can be met by the talent, energy, and enthusiasm that you bring with you to Paint Lick every day.  Your dedication, paired with our amazing students, helped us to achieve the honors that we are known for.  I cannot begin to tell you how blessed I feel to be part of this staff.

We will work hard this year.  I will continue to seek out new and innovative approaches to implement our initiatives and will do my best to support you.  As we strive to offer our students our very best instruction to accomplish our goals, we will be pushed and challenged.  Focus areas for Paint Lick, including how best to help our students master the math standards and how to provide student-focused instruction, will not just be strengthened by, but will compel us to work together.

I know you will be as excited as me to work with our new staff members.  Our first hire of the summer was Lisa Combs.  Lisa comes to us from GMS and will join Amy Griffin, Debbie Valentour, Tonia Middleton, and Carolyn Noe as our powerhouse RTI team.  Speaking of powerhouse teams, our special ed team has been strengthened by the additions of Shani Rogers, Casie McGuire, Rita Gay, and Rhonda Morris.  Shani and Casie join us from Madison County, teaching LBD and MSD, respectively, while Rita and Rhonda will be our new instructional assistants from the high school.  Our first grade team gains Paint Lick graduate, Jordan Evans!  She joins us from Boyle County! Last, but certainly not least, we were so blessed to find Nancy Cummins from DCA who will be our music teacher.  While we have had Casey Perkins, her smiling face will be new to the office. We have yet to hire a counselor, but the board approved making the position full time last week, so I am optimistic that we will find just the right person for our students and school.

Again, let me reiterate how proud I am to work with each of you.  Your dedication and love for our students is unmatched and I look forward to an amazing year with an amazing staff and group of students.   Thank you for everything you do.
